Director of Transportation, Bryan Hoolihan, received a certificate from the county

When a Flixbus traveling Southbound on I-87 rolled off the road, it was all hands on deck for Warren County. The accident happened between exits 22 and 23, and resulted in 22 victims with various injuries. First responders worked to involve local agencies who could bring relief to the victims at that time.

The Warrensburg Central School District received the request for help. Warrensburg's Director of Transportation Bryan Hoolihan, members of our transportation department, and Warrensburg SRO Matt Fish were among the volunteers who responded to the call to action.  Victims of the crash were helped by these staff members and transported to safety using our school buses. The commitment to keeping students safe extends to the entire community. We are proud of our personnel who stepped up in this moment of crisis.

After bringing the affected individuals to safety, the work of the county did not stop there. Through connections within the community, Warren County provided a place to stay and meals for the stranded travelers.

The remarkable response was honored at the Warren County Board of Supervisors meeting on January 19th.  The response to this emergency speaks to the countywide training that is provided to coordinate such plans.
