Earlier this week, our fifth-grade classes took a field trip to the State Capitol building in Albany. Students visited the floor of the Senate and had a chance to speak with our representative in the New York State Senate, Senator Stec. Afterward, students toured the capitol building, went to the top of the Corning Tower, and visited the Assembly chambers. It was an exciting day for our fifth graders. Thank you for having us!
Reminder, there is a Board of Education Workshop on Monday, April 22 from 6 - 8 in the Jr/Sr High School Auditorium to review and/or Adopt the Proposed Budget to be adopted by the Board of Ed by April 23.
Remember, Friday, April 19, 2024 is an Early Release Day. Elementary School dismisses at 11:45am and the Jr/Sr. High School dismisses at 12:05pm.

Over the weekend, top musicians from eight local schools gathered in the Warrensburg Jr/Sr High School auditorium for the CASMA music festival. The performance featured Junior and Senior High Bands, a Women’s Chorus, and an Elementary Chorus. Students worked with various guest conductors. After rehearsing together all day, they performed for a packed house. Warrensburg 6th grader Shay Graves was featured as one of the soloists in the song, "This Is Me". Great job to all who participated!
The CASMA festival is a voluntary offering for band and chorus students. The participating vocal and band students practice and perform musical selections alongside students from other schools. We are honored that our school was chosen to host the event.

This week is National Robotics Week! We stopped by a meeting of our Robotics Club to catch up with the students and their staff advisor, Mr. Galusha. It is so impressive to see what this club is working on. Students are learning to build, code, and control robots using the VEX Robotics systems. The skills learned in the Robotics Club will be invaluable to our students in the future.

After a snowy spring break, our students and staff came back in full force! For the 12th edition of The Blast, we caught up with our Robotics team to celebrate National Robotics Week, sent three staff members to the Pathways to Leadership Program, and of course, witnessed the solar eclipse. Congratulations to WCSD teachers Mrs. Uhly, Mrs. Sesselman, and Mrs. DiBiase for completing the Pathways to Leadership Program! The program trains educational staff to deal with the current issues faced by school leadership, including the shortage and quality of candidates interested in formal leadership roles. Participation in programs like this prepares us for the future of our district and raises leaders from within. Thank you for stepping up to the challenge!
