Summer Meals for Kids at Warrensburg Elementary

As part of its efforts to ensure kids have access to healthy meals during the summer months, Warrensburg Elementary School is pleased to announce its summer meals site will be serving kids and teens. Starting on July 8, 2024, all kids and teens 18 and under can receive meals free of charge, no registration needed. Program run dates are Monday through Thursday, July 8 – August 8, 2024. Warrensburg Elementary School free summer meals for kids and teens younger than 18 years. We provide free, healthy, nutritious meals for kids and teens younger than 18 years. No cost or sign-up required. Breakfast and Lunch are served onsite at the Warrensburg Elementary School. July 8 - August 8 Breakfast 8-8:30am, Lunch 11:30-12pm

EMT Program to be Offered at WCSD

Warrensburg Central School District leaders have worked continuously to bring hands-on learning opportunities to students, preparing them for whatever career and education they’re looking for after graduation. As part of this priority, the district is partnering with WSWHE BOCES to bring an Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) program to students in the area. This one-year program will be offered at the Warrensburg Jr./Sr. High School during the 2024-25 school year. Click here to learn more about the incoming EMT Program.

11 Juniors Welcomed to the National Honor Society

Last week, we inducted 11 juniors into the National Honor Society. To qualify for the National Honor Society, a student must have a high cumulative GPA and demonstrate an interest in service, pursuing leadership, and excellent character. Students Win County Envirothon; Travel to State Competition

In May, students from our high school competed and won the annual Warren County Envirothon. A few weeks later, the WCSD team finished 27th out of 42 teams at the state competition. Congratulations to "Team Three,” made up of Warrensburg senior Lillian Joseph and sophomores Charlotte Measick, Alex Wallace, Molly Krzykpowski, and Julia Taylor, for taking home the gold in the county competition and moving on to the State Envirothon Competition. Kindergarten Graduation

There has been a change in the date for Kindergarten Graduation. Kindergarten Graduation will be on June 24, 9:00 a.m. in the Elementary School Gymnasium.

6th Grade to Visit High School

Current 6th grade students will visit the Jr/Sr High School and practice changing classes, using lockers, and meet their teachers on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. If your child does not ride the bus, please bring them directly to the Jr/Sr High School at 8:00 a.m.

Seniors Take Goat Yoga Class

On Monday, June 10th, several Senior National Honor Society students went to Into the Woods Farm to take a goat yoga class!  Next to 17 goats, including 2 babies, the group found some zen together and were about as close to nature as they could get!  Afterward, the students enjoyed some lunch and time together in Lake George Village.

"Chopped" Comes to Warrensburg

Students in Ms. McDermott's Family and Consumer Sciences Education class competed in cooking the best dish for "Chopped". Students were challenged to come up with a dish using the ingredients of beef, broccoli, and cheese. The dishes were judged by special guests Mrs. Baker, Mr. Herbst, Mr. DiFiore, and Mr. Lemery. The winning dish from the red team consisted of meatloaf served on top of Italian bread with sides of garlic oil broccoli and cheesy scalloped potatoes. Congratulations to the winning students, Taylor Lehocki, Briella Gallagher, Sophia Fiorentino, and Brody Olden!

SUNY Adirondack Summer Enrichment Program

Since 1982, SUNY Adirondack has provided learning opportunities for area students through our Summer Enrichment Program. Click here to see the courses they are offering this year!

Courses will run from July 8th to July 25th Monday through Thursday. There are courses for students entering grades 4-10.

CCE Family Hiking Challenge

Stay active and enjoy the outdoors this summer. The Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H of Warren and Washington Counties is offering its Family Hiking Challenge to hikers in the area. From beginner to advanced, they have a challenge that will help you create lasting memories with your children. To participate in the Challenge, a family must complete six hikes, including at least two of the guided hikes offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension, and attend a Zoom meeting to cover hiker safety and Leave No Trace Principles. 2nd Annual Hickory Hike 4 Kids

Join the 2nd Annual Hickory Hike 4 Kids hosted by the Hickory Legacy Foundation on Saturday, June 22nd at noon. Attendees can participate in a community hike followed by an after-party filled with outdoor music, local beer and wine, tasty food, and fun family games. The hike is free and the first 50 who sign up for the hike get a free T-Shirt. Click here to learn more and register.

MASH Camp

The Hudson Mohawk AHEC MASH Camp program provides a unique opportunity for students entering 9th- 12th grades to engage with many different providers in the healthcare workforce through interactive presentations. This program helps youth understand the extensive variety of careers available to them in the healthcare industry.

Applications are due no later than July 5, 2024, which includes a completed Application, signed Student Consent, signed Code of Conduct, signed Parental & Media Consent Form and the Medical Information Form. This is a competitive process - late applications will not be accepted.

MASH CAMP JULY 2024 Learn about multiple careers in healthcare including educational and skill requirements and job duties from current healthcare professionals. Participate in many hands-on healthcare related activities.
