Steven Schloss is today’s featured senior for the Warrensburg National Honor Society. The son of Jennifer and Steve Schloss, Stevie has been a very active participant in the Warrensburg sports program during his time in high school. He has been a highly decorated member of the Varsity Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams, and has participated in many Honor Society community service events. Ranking 10th in the Top 10 of the graduating class, Stevie plans to attend Castleton University next year to major in Physical Education. Thank you for being a wonderful member of the NHS and good luck in college!

The Warrensburg Senior National Honor Society would like to recognize Caden Allen as today’s featured senior. The son of Ron and Melissa Allen, Caden has been very active in the sports program during his time at Warrensburg. He has been a highly-awarded member of the Varsity Football, Basketball, and Baseball Teams, and is a member of Varsity Club and Senior National Honor Society. He also enjoys skiing and has trained on a competitive bobsled team. During the summer, Caden works as a lifeguard, demonstrating his continued active lifestyle. He plans to attend SUNY Adirondack to major in Sports Medicine and hopes to further his career in sports. In the future, Caden would like to possibly own his own business. Good luck to you in all your goals!

Last week, students in Ms. McDermott's Family and Consumer Sciences Education class competed in cooking the best dish for "Chopped". Students were challenged to come up with a dish using the ingredients of beef, broccoli, and cheese. The dishes were judged by special guests Mrs. Baker, Mr. Herbst, Mr. DiFiore, and Mr. Lemery. The winning dish from the red team consisted of meatloaf served on top of Italian bread with sides of garlic oil broccoli and cheesy scalloped potatoes. Congratulations to the winning students, Taylor Lehocki, Briella Gallagher, Sophia Fiorentino, and Brody Olden!

Lillian Joseph is today’s featured senior from the Senior National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Lynette and Walker Joseph and currently serves as the Secretary and Blood Drive Chairperson for NHS. Lilly has been a very involved student during her time at Warrensburg as a member of Varsity Track & Field, Master Singers, Jazz Band, NYSSMA events, and performing in several Drama Club productions as the lead role. In her free time, Lilly enjoys skiing. After graduating, Lilly plans on attending Elmira College to study psychology with the hope of helping others with their mental health. Best of luck to you in all your future endeavors, and thank you for all you have contributed to Senior National Honor Society. We will miss you!

Stay active and enjoy the outdoors this summer. The Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H of Warren and Washington Counties is offering its Family Hiking Challenge to hikers in the area.
From beginner to advanced, they have a challenge that will help you create lasting memories with your children. To participate in the Challenge, a family must complete six hikes, including at least two of the guided hikes offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension, and attend a Zoom meeting to cover hiker safety and Leave No Trace Principles.

In May, students from our high school competed and won the annual Warren County Envirothon. A few weeks later, the WCSD team finished 27th out of 42 teams at the state competition. Congratulations to "Team Three,” made up of Warrensburg senior Lillian Joseph and sophomores Charlotte Measick, Alex Wallace, Molly Krzykpowski, and Julia Taylor, for taking home the gold in the county competition and moving on to the State Envirothon Competition. Tonight at 6 pm, our Elementary School band students will be performing a casual outdoor concert at the Elementary School main entrance. This short concert will feature solos from some of our most gifted and dedicated music students, as well as a special performance from the Warrensburg Elementary school jazz ensemble. Refreshments and snacks will be provided!
Don't miss the chance to see this incredible 25 student band. We are so excited to put on a great show for you.

The May Students of the Month in our Elementary School were celebrated during the P.R.I.D.E. Assembly this morning! Congratulations to all who were recognized! During the assembly, we were treated to a performance from the 1st-grade choral group and listened to a special presentation on how to stay safe this summer.
