This week is National Robotics Week! We stopped by a meeting of our Robotics Club to catch up with the students and their staff advisor, Mr. Galusha. It is so impressive to see what this club is working on. Students are learning to build, code, and control robots using the VEX Robotics systems. The skills learned in the Robotics Club will be invaluable to our students in the future.

After a snowy spring break, our students and staff came back in full force! For the 12th edition of The Blast, we caught up with our Robotics team to celebrate National Robotics Week, sent three staff members to the Pathways to Leadership Program, and of course, witnessed the solar eclipse. Congratulations to WCSD teachers Mrs. Uhly, Mrs. Sesselman, and Mrs. DiBiase for completing the Pathways to Leadership Program! The program trains educational staff to deal with the current issues faced by school leadership, including the shortage and quality of candidates interested in formal leadership roles. Participation in programs like this prepares us for the future of our district and raises leaders from within. Thank you for stepping up to the challenge!

April 3rd is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! Paraprofessionals play an important role in supporting students, from helping teachers in the classroom to providing one-on-one support to students. April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day! Let’s bring attention to the need for early intervention services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorder. Be a voice for autism today by raising awareness and spreading kindness about a cause that affects millions of people around the world.
April is School Library Month! Our school library is at the center of our learning and education. Students use our libraries to research topics and explore new worlds as told by authors. Our librarians work with teachers to host class activities and champion literacy to our youngest students.

Before heading out for Spring Break, our Jr./Sr. High School hosted a spirit week filled with themed dress-up days! Monday was PJ Day, Tuesday was Twin Day, Wednesday was "Anything but a Backpack" Day, and Thursday was Pastel/Spring Day. It was so fun to see our students (and staff!) get creative with the themes.
This morning, we recognized all of our Students of the Month for the month of March during our Elementary School P.R.I.D.E. Ceremony. We were treated to a performance from our Elementary School Jazz band and a lesson on climate change from student peer leader Charles Carodonna. We love coming together as a school to celebrate the achievements of our students!
As a result of the NYS Police's recent recommendation for schools, the Warrensburg Central School District will have an early release day during the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. Due to the impending weather Saturday evenings performance of Anastasia is postponed to Monday, March 25th at 6 pm. All tickets purchased for Saturday night's performance will be honored on Monday.
