Last week, NYS Troopers visited the Jr/Sr High School to educate students on the importance of wearing seat belts, using a Rollover Simulator to demonstrate the devastating consequences of not wearing seat belts. The simulator showed students how crash dummies were thrown around the vehicle and ejected from the windows, emphasizing the importance of buckling up. The Troopers also led a "Battle of the Belts'' competition, where teams of four competed to see who could buckle up the fastest, driving home the message that wearing a seat belt is a simple and potentially life-saving measure that only takes a second.
The presentation was sponsored by the SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter.
