CASDA Announces Capital Region Scholars Recognition Recipients

Please join us in congratulating senior Sara Langworthy and Coach Scott Smith for being selected to participate in CASDA's 35th Annual Scholars' Recognition Program. CASDA and its partners host this program to honor the outstanding scholastic achievements of graduating seniors from high schools across the Capital Region and beyond. The students are nominated by their schools on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and service to their school and community.

Sara has been a three-sport varsity athlete, a member of the student council and the National Honor Society. She will attend the University of Rochester to study nursing. Sara is the daughter of Darren and Amy Langworthy.

Each selected student is asked to nominate an educator who had a significant influence on their education. Sara selected coach and athletic director, Scott Smith.  Sara stated, “Coach Smith has coached me since seventh grade in softball and basketball. He pushed me past my limits in sports, and also challenged me to achieve higher academic excellence. He has been a role model and helping hand whenever I needed one. I am extremely grateful for him.”

Congratulations to both!
